Conditional Happiness is when someone believes they will be happy only when they have achieved a goal, are at a certain place in their life, have found the right person to be with, or similar. In reality we make our own happiness with how we view our world and respond to what is happening around us.

“It is quite impossible to unite happiness with a yearning for what we don’t have. Happiness has all that it wants, and resembling the well-fed, there shouldn’t be hunger or thirst”

Epictetus, Discourses 3.24.17
